The following is from #1 of an 11 week series entitled: There is a myth in christianity that i often hear people say—maybe you have even said it yourself—and that is, “god will not put more on me than i can bear.”. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience.

Let Me Debunk That Myth Right Now With A Look At The Life Of Paul.


In 1 corinthians, chapter 10, the apostle paul writes this:. In times of trial, difficulty, and suffering, christians of all stripes will not hesitate to lay a comforting hand on the shoulder of their loved ones and assure them that god will never give them more than they can handle. “god will never give his people trials in which he will not sustain them and bring them through to everlasting glory.”.

Rather, God Is Telling Us, “I Am Giving You Grace So That There Will Be Grace To Do It, But You Are Not Independent Of My Powers To Help.”.


God does not expect us to overcome in our own strength. First, it’s not in the bible. The prayer “ deliver us from evil ” ( matthew 6:13) will be answered.

But When You Are Tempted, God Will Also Give You A Way To Escape That Temptation.


Like many other platitudes, it simply doesn’t exist. Paul said in 1 corinthians 15:10, “but by the grace of god i am what i am. The bible teaches us that god’s power is unlimited, and it is at work in us.

The Truth Is, God Won’t Give You More Than He Can Handle.


It says that we won’t be tempted beyond what we are able, and then later on in the verse, it goes on to say that “with the temptation [god] will also provide the way out so that you may be able to. But There Is Nothing That Says “God Will Never Give You More Than You Can Bear.”.


That’s not what the bible says. What the saying “god will never give you more than you can handle” means. He hasn’t committed to keep us from.
